Local Artist Spotlight: Rapper LEE MAJOR (Rockford, IL)

On this edition of the Local artist Spotlight we check out the Homie Lee Major... From Rockford, Illinois. Dude def has some talent. Love his concepts. His style consist of taking some of his favorite movies and creating a story or telling the story for a different point of view.

Itn the video below his takes the movie Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1998) with Vivica A Fox, Marcello Thedford and Larenz Tate  and puts is spin on it. He calls it  DONT F**K WITH THE DEALER Produced by XXL BEATS.



In the next Clip one of my personal faves, Lee takes the movie Losing Isaiah (1995) with Halle Berry and gives us the point of view from the Baby. Dope powerful shit. Produced by Derek Digital.



 Lee is also Artist/Producer. He recently dropped an Instrumental mixtape called  "Motel Lorraine". It  is the first Instrumental Mixtape from his production group #TheFanatics. Local Artist Spotlight: Rapper AlphaTvylore (Columbus)

Education: Cal-State Fullerton - 2 years into a bachelors in Business. Currently taking a break to pursue his music career, but we will be to finish. He promises.




The first thing you will notice when you meet Jacob is that he has a big head. It's rather obvious. I am not talking about how cocky he is, I am literally talking about the actual size of his head. It's like a size 8. His friends and family always knew he has something special going on up there.


Jacob, A.K.A. AlphaTvylore is actual a very humble man once you get to know him. Born and raised on the East Side of Columbus, OH, his family always had his best interests at heart raising him to be the motivated, educated man he is today. From day one, he was the odd man out. Going to a predominantly white high-school and being the "token" Black Guy having to listen to bad jokes all through high school. See white folks can't only not dance, they can't tell good jokes while trying to impress their one black friends. Its shameful really.



All of that led him to find a way to get away, to ignore the things around him and it led him to his true love: MUSIC. Jacob's love for music started real young, the first time he heard the miseducation of Lauryn Hill and Ready to Die albums. He knew at the very least music would be a big part of his life from here on out.


His other love, sports - particularly football, also played a major role in growing up. It was football and music, music and football. If he wasn't doing one, he was doing the other.


A naturally gifted athlete, Jacob earned a football scholarship to play football at Texas A&M. Most people being raised on the east side would have loved a full ride to a major university playing football, but AlphaTvylore's heart just wasn't in the game as much as it was into music. Rapping, Producing, Making beats, you name it, he wanted to do it all.


That's the thing about Jacob, he is a very driven individual who did what all of us dream of, and will hopefully will do one day. He followed his heart. He gave up an easy life, living the college dream, playing D1 football, snow bunnies, free tuition, playing alongside Johnny Football (although unknown at the time) to pursue his true passion in life: MAKING MUSIC.


That is where he is at now. Living in not too shabby Los Angeles focusing strictly on making music, producing music, and changing music. Staying up all night in studio, not even knowing when the sun rises and falls, giving his everything into the music he is making. He truly fits the motto "when you wanna succeed as bad as you wanna breath, that's when you will become successful"


Just 20 years old, Jacob turned down a deal with Interscope a few weeks back to remain unsigned in hopes of doing it on his own and making his own path, not following in the footsteps of others. Do yourself a favor and listen to this young man's tracks, I promise you will hear from him again and again, and you will want to say 'I know of AlphaTvylore before he was famous'

Local Artist Spotlight:Cal Scruby -The Boy Genius

Many of you know and have seen the big things our Homie and Ohio's own Cal Scruby is doing. The Ohio State University engineering student’s is nasty on the track with a flow and substance. Known to rock a party, stage, club, Concert or festival. Opened for the likes or Jay Cole, King Chip (Chip the Ripper) MGK etc... EVEN got a segment on local news chanel 10tv... (see Below)



The dude is killing it.. We are proud to call him Ohio's Own. Its one thing thing to say you're working.. but this dude is truly  WORKING. Videos are on point and entertaining. His team DJ ETRAYN (@djetrayn), producer Alexander Dreamer (@edensmonster) are on some real shit right now. We all know how live his performances are, & Scruby and his LandSea Media group produced enough videos to keep fans entertained while they worked on his mixtape Boy Genius.  Check out this video Below from the first single dropped called "Fux with me" directed by Dan Gotti and filmed at FB's in Cincinnati. It not only displays the talent that Cal has... is shows that his Energy and creativity can make that next jump. The Jump where you get noticed Nationally...



Cal also dropped Boy Genius a couple months back. Do not sleep on this Monster Mixtape. This is the second project from Cal after his first album Best Foot Foward, which can both be downloaded off DaTPiff right now!  Dude is doing his thing! Local Entertainer Spotlight: Comedian Steve MAC

INRODUCING COMEDIAN STEVE MAC!

The entertaining personality of Steve Mac has caused him to win over audiences & become admired by his friends and fellow comedians. There are not many people that can start writing jokes and then end up being one of the top comedians in their area. Steve Mac is one of those people. Being from Dayton, Ohio, he is taking the Miami Valley by storm in his early Career. 

Steve grew up in Dayton and has always been a standout among his peers. He spent his youth playing basketball, playing video games, & eating skyline Coneys. He has always found himself at the center of attention and has always dreamt of being on stage.  His classmates realized it as well, as Steve got voted biggest ego and senior class president in High School. Steve also hosted his High School Talent show. It was here he started to see his dream take form.

Steve attended College at The University of Toledo and then later on at Wright State University to be close to home. It was in College when Steve realized how he can make so many different types of people laugh and enjoy his company by just being himself. He hosted and emceed many parties at clubs/bars in college. Steve knew he needed to take advantage of his natural talent and become a performer.

Steve stated writing jokes after college. He performed at many venues around Dayton and saw his Following grow fast. He broke the record for bringing the most people to Clash at the Comics at the Dayton Funny bone. He raised $900 dollars for a charity as the only comic at the Event and he also raised $700 at a comedy show in Yellow Springs, the home town of one of his influences, Dave Chappelle.

Steve has appeared on stage and has worked with fellow Comedians; Michael Colyar, Jo Koy, Jeremy Essing, Vince Morris, Keith Bender, Gary Menke, Ryan Singer, Dale Jones, Kenny Smith, Geoff Tate, DJ Dangler among others.  

Steve has worked hard to develop an act that’s truly original and hilarious. He reminds his audience of the great comedians that have influenced him: Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Katt Williams and Bernie Mac.

With immediate comic charisma and a crisp clean writing style,Steve brings fresh, young, smart, edgy comedy to the table.  Steve is sought after for his ability to perform for a wide variety of audiences while making each show a unique, memorable experience. 

Steve performs regularly at the Dayton Funny Bone, Wiley's Comedy Club, and Go Bananas Comedy Club. He is also performing throughout mid-western Ohio and Northern Kentucky.

Local Artist Spotlight:C10 - Here We Go Again (Official Video & BIO)

The Street Evol is proud to introduce to you C10!



Nowadays rappers come a dime a dozen, but Columbus, Oh native C10 is determined to stand out
from the pack. C10 (real name Chad Tennant) found a love for music at the early age of 11 when his father bought him a trumpet. He then learned how to read music and soon started writing raps. Shortly after he started producing and recording his own tracks. “I still remember my first rap, ‘are we rough enough’. Even then I was all about battle rapping.”




After a short stint in college, 10 returned to his hometown and cofounded Omnibreed,a group of friends who chased the same dream. Omnibreed went on to release several underground projects, (many of which contained production by the artist himself) and performed at countless venues allowing 10 to perfect his craft and showmanship. In 2007, C10 debuted his solo project titled “The Teacher.” Enthusiastic feedback from listeners certifies this album as an indie classic. Two years later, C10 was back in the studio and released his second solo production called “Cut The Check.” Not only did the project show growth in lyrical prowess, the effort solidified him as one of the most renowned acts in the midwest.

Currently C10 is concentrating on feeding his budding fan base. Opening up for national artist like Talib Kweli, Too Short and Ghostface Killa to name a few. He is set to release several new projects, one of which include an album titled “Burning Bridges”. Other projects soon to be released is a Volume 3 Omnibreed mixtape as well as an untitled album with his newest collaboration The Luxury League. When C10 is asked how does he stay motivated, he had this to say “Im just not gonna stop doing what I believe in, period. nOW THATS WHATS UP! He has recently opened for Big K.R.I.T. 's performance Skully's in Columbus with  other local artists like Submuloc, Flam Feeva, Khil, and Meechie Nelson.

Local Artist Spotlight: Luxury League -I Be (Official HD Video & BIO)

Luxury League is a super group composed of three of the Midwest’s premiere rappers and producers. C10 of Omnibreed, Fresh of Young TrendSetterZ, and Selah of Young World Muzik. The group formed in 2011 due to having mutual respect for each other’s talent, as well as sharing the views about the current state of hip hop. Below is their single "I BE" Directed by Seanie G...Dope Video!

The group was ultimately motivated to make waves within hiphop and Columbus, Ohio. The trio then collaborated on a joint effort entitled “Luxury Season” (4/20/2012). With news of the project approaching, anticipation quickly began to build with the releases of their first two singles (“I be” and “A way out”). After receiving rave reviews from their energetic performance, at promoter’s request Luxury League has opened for national artist (Too Short, Joe Budden, and Freddie Gibbs) amongst others. 

 The Luxury League’s lifestyle exudes high quality music and creativity while maintaining a “luxurious” brand that’s unparallel to any rap group of this era; which could be the reason for their small but growing cult like following. Despite the growing success of Luxury League they remain humble and state that “This is more than music, we want everyone to strive for a life of luxury.” These qualities make Luxury League truely in a league of their own. Look out for them with a sound like this these dudes are next to Blow out of Columbus!
