Top 5 Hip Hop Albums that influenced Culture!!
5.

Album: Wale "The Album About Nothing"
Culture Relevance: Wale is one of those artist that put a lot of thought into his album concepts. This particular album has to be one of the best concepts ever. Wale brings Seinfeld to the hip hop community, giving us a does of humor mixed with real life situations. This album shows that Wale is able to take a show like Seinfeld (which is a top five show BTW but i digress) and make it into something that can cross all backgrounds.
4.
Album: Kid Cudi "MOTM 1"
Culture Relevance: With the emergence of Kid Cudi in 2007 we saw an artist that had a lot more to say than the typical artist. Cudi gave us an album that was likely the blueprint for many artist today. The raw emotion and realness of this album allowed Cudi to show us that its ok to be who you are regardless of what anyone says. (Salute Cudi)
3.
Album: BIG "Life After Death"
Culture Relevance: Where do i start with this one, i can remember hearing this album and thinking, "I can see every lyric he raps". Big had this style that was his own, he gave us in inside view of someone that had a lot on his mind but in the mist of it all tried to enjoy this gift he had been giving. Love Live BIG!!!
2.
Album: Outkast "Speakerbox/The Love Below"
Culture Relevance: Outkast showed us that even in a group you can still be individuals. This album broke down so many barriers for hip hop to enter main stream, i mean my 40 plus year old Aunt owned this album. I think we really go to see 3000 be the 3000 we know today as well as Big Boi show us that you have to mention him as a lyricist. Overall this album might have been the most important to the culture.
1.
Album: Jay Z "Reasonable Doubt"
Culture Relevance: Close your eyes, light a cigar, hell grab some whiskey.......Thats exactly what this album is, Luxury meets real rap. Jay gave us the most well rounded album of all time. He showed the guy from the block that you can make it and also showed the regular 9-5 guy that anything is possible with a mean hustle. The "Can Do" tone of this album spoke to us all and is still speaking today.

Kanye West: “I Got Love For Hov, but I Ain’t F**king with that ‘Suit & Tie’” (Video)
Yup. Once again, Kanye West chose to go off on a few topics during one of his patented interlude/rhyming rap ramble rants while out in London tonight. This time around, he decided he had a few words for the Grammys as well as that quote above. Time for outlets to start insinuating that there’s a “beef” between Jay-Z and Kanye. Starting at the 6 minute mark.
Shout to Team Kanye Daily, HHU

30 Is Not In Fact The New 20
D.West
Head Writer
"30's the new 20 nigga, I'm so hot still" - Jay-Z
That's a half true statement. It's 2012, and Hov is still atop the charts, making great classic music, however 30 is not in fact the new 20. It's the exact same 30 it's always been. This past month I turned 28, and as I inch ever closer to the big three zero I find myself coming to grips with this realization.
When I was 20 I was in college, drinking literally every night, smoking much weed as possible, and living as though I had no tomorrow. If I got fired from a job, I found a new one. If I broke a bone it healed in what seemed to be two weeks, and I had no semblance of an actual emotional relationship.

family man..?! |
--to me at least.
I'm not sure if the terms creation sits squarely on the shoulders of Jay-Z or not. Research into the terms origin only turned up the lyrics to his song "30 Something" though I'm pretty sure I'd heard the term used before I'd heard that song. My guess would be that generations previous to ours had a tendency to do things earlier. They got into the workforce earlier, they got married earlier, and they had stable lives much earlier.

Life is about two things: Relationships, and growth. And you can't have one without the other--well, allow me to rephrase-- you can't have a successful relationship without growth. The person you are when you're 20 should not be who you are at 25, nor should the person you are at 25 be the same as the person you are at 30. And that's just natural progression. At 30 you should simply want more for yourself than the same shit hole bar you've been going to for 5 years. Or the same petty drama and problems you were dealing with when you were young. To me that only makes sense.

90's the new 15 NIGGA! |
So when your 30th birthday comes around, do yourself a favor and cancel the keg. Hold off on heading out to the club. And for god sake stay away from that hole in the wall bar you and your college roommate loved so much. In short be 30! Grow up! Going out and getting "shitfaced" on your birthday is kids stuff. And deep down inside even you know it.
Leave the kids stuff to the children you're not taking care of...But that of course is an entirely different article...

Kanye West & Jay-Z to Auction Off Ruined $350,000 Maybach from “Otis” Music Video
A car that will surely go down in pop culture folklore, Kanye West and Jay-Z’s totalled Maybach is set to go on the auction block. The car represented one of the inhuman stars of the smash hit video, Otis. Before you’re so quick to dismiss the sale of a wrecked $350,000 USD car, proceeds will be donated to the Save the Children foundation. Auctioned off via Phillips de Pury of New York on March 8th, all parties are looking to make an impact and raise awareness for the difficulties facing many East African families.

Jay-Z is Getting Involved
Most celebrity owners of sports teams are exactly that—celebrities who shows up at games, sit in the front row, and get their teams positive press. They don't have much say in personnel decisions (in fact, they usually have no say in personnel decisions). They don't have much direct contact with the majority owners of the team. And they most certainly aren't involved in making decisions like what type of suites would work best in a team's new arena. Those things are left to be decided by the team's "real" owners.
But the Wall Street Journal just did a piece highlighting all of the things that Jay-Z is doing to help the Nets transition to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. And, we have to say: We're impressed. According to the piece, Jay helped design the super-exclusive "The Vault at Barclays Center"—a collection of 11 suites that'll offer VIPs the best of the best during Nets games. He helped pick out the team's new uniforms. And he has been in constant contact with Barclays Center CEO Brett Yormark about what the team needs to do to attract fans to Nets games next season.
"I don't tell Jay-Z to do anything," Yormark told the WSJ. "I mean that. He tells me what to do. Listen, when it comes to our engagement, let's just say he's the CEO."
See? Impressive. We knew Hov was a little more involved with the Nets than, say, Nelly is with the Charlotte Bobcats. But we had no idea dude was doing things like picking out which kind of forks people should be eating with in the luxury suites at the Barclays Center. Clearly, dude is anything but the typical celebrity owner.

Kanye West & Jay-Z Allegedly Earn $3 Mil EACH to Play a 16th Birthday
Kanye West and Jay-Z were paid just under £4 million to play live at the 16th birthday party of the daughter of an Arab billionaire.
The rappers, who released their much anticipated collaboration album 'Watch The Throne' earlier this year, were reportedly paid a fee of £1.9 million ($2.9 million) each to perform the gig, which took place in Dubai around two weeks before Christmas.
Jay-Z has previously hinted that the second release from his and West's 'Watch The Throne' project will be released next year.
He said of he and West's future plans: "We – I say 'we' because I'm in Throne mode – we're in a great place creatively. You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year… We've really found our zone."
Jay-Z and Kanye West completed a lengthy North American arena tour just before the Christmas period.

Kanye West & Jay-Z Perform @ 2011 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show
This is hilarious... it was supposed to be a night highlighting some of the most gorgeous women in the world at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York, turned into for a lack of a better word.... a Sausage fest. "Kanye West, Jay-Z and Maroon 5 all took to the stage to perform as the scantily-clad Victoria’s Secret models stalked the catwalk around them. Not to be outdone by the musical impresarios, Miranda Kerr would later emerge in a 2.5 million dollar bra studded in diamonds. This was a particularly emotional moment for West, as he lost his mother just prior to being scheduled to perform at the 2007 event." check out somemore pics below.

Jay-Z and Timbaland in Legal Trouble over "Big Pimpin" Sample?
Jay-Z and Timbaland are in legal trouble surrounding their 2000 hit single "Big Pimpin." Although the sample was cleared, there's a dispute over how the license for the song was used.
The record samples "Khosara, Khosara" by Baligh Hamdy. Only an unaltered version could be legally licensed, and the lawsuit contests that an altered version was used. After the composer passed away in 1993, copyrights to the song were passed down to his children. Egyptian "moral rights" legislation was breached because Jigga man did not ask for permission from the four children to use an altered version of the song..........."Everytime you felt that was that, they call you right back"
